Phil Mickelson is one of the most successful golfers in the modern golfing era. He is one of only twelve players in the history of golf to win three out of the four majors. In May 2021 he became the oldest major championship winner in history at the 2021 PGA Championship aged over 50 years old. Driver

Phil Mickelson used a Callaway Epic Speed Triple Diamond for his May 2021 PGA Championship win. This driver has a lower centre of gravity that helps the spin rate remain low. This is a big asset on any windy course.

Irons

He uses a Callaway Apex MB ‘21 (small groove). This gives him plenty of distance and helped him rank second in strokes gained/tee to green in the May 2021 PGA.

Wedges

He favours a Callaway PM Grind ‘19 “Raw”. This wedge was designed by Mickelson and Roger Cleveland together. He uses it with different degrees of loft and bounce.

Phil Mickelson Swing

Phil Mickelson has a left-handed swing, earning him the nickname “Lefty”. Funnily enough Phil Mickelson is not actually left-handed but learnt how to swing by mirroring his first swing coach – his dad! Mickelson has a long golf swing. He uses a claw grip to hold his clubs which means that his right hand holds the top of his club and his left hand fits underneath cradling it lightly. Phil Mickelson has improved his swing speed in recent years, surprising many other professionals on the circuit as typically your swing slows down with age. It appears a rigorous training regime and time in the gym have helped him improve his swing speed.
